Смартфоны и коммуникаторы - будущее мобильных устройств

Россияне все больше ощущают потребность в умных телефонах. По оценкам компании
J' son & Partners, в 2007 году продажи таких устройств в России могут превысить 2 млн штук - на 800 тысяч штук больше, чем было продано в 2006 году.
Сегмент дорогих портативных устройств сейчас - локомотив роста доходов мобильных ретейлеров на фоне общей стагнации на рынке сотовых телефонов. Доля смартфонов и коммуникаторов, по данным Mobile Research Group, в прошлом году составила всего 3,7%, прогноз на текущий год - 5,9%. Эти два устройства и помогают ретейлерам повышать доход.
«Их стоимость начинается от $300 и переваливает за $1 тысячу, затраты же на программное обеспечение невелики из-за того, что платформа обновляется не каждый год и используется сразу в нескольких модельных линейках аппаратов», - говорит директор департамента телекоммуникаций компании ISG Алексей Торицын.
Росту популярности умных устройств способствуют и операторы, которые все больше делают ставку на развитие неголосовых сервисов. «Теперь людям нужен не только телефон, но и интернет, цифровое ТВ, мультимедиа. Телефон постепенно превращается в терминальное устройство», - замечает начальник отдела закупок портативной техники компании "Евросеть" Денис Черников. Смартфоны и коммуникаторы, которые разрабатывались для того, чтобы освободить менеджера от необходимости постоянно носить с собой несколько килограммов цифровой техники, становятся массовыми устройствами. Немалую роль в этом становлении играют и любители дорогих игрушек.
Остается только понять, чем отличаются друг от друга два класса мобильных устройств: смартфоны и коммуникаторы. Они, кстати, до данным "Евросети", пока составляют равные доли в продажах умных мобильных устройств.
Тонкая грань
Коммуникатором называется карманный портативный компьютер (КПК) с функцией связи, а смартфон - это телефон, оснащенный функциями КПК. Вот, пожалуй, самое распространенное разграничение двух классов устройств. Иными словами, телефон, дополненный компьютерными приложениями, с возможностью установки программ - это смартфон. Коммуникатор же - это миниатюрный компьютер, в который добавили функцию мобильной связи.
Однако сегодня все настолько перемешалось, что в ходе написания этого обзора появился вопрос: а есть ли разница между этими двумя устройствами, или же название устройства зависит от того, как его позиционирует производитель? Ведь кардинально они различаются только по внешнему виду. "Смартфон - это телефон с клавиатурным управлением, у коммуникатора - Touch Screen.
Соответственно экран у смартфона меньше", - говорит Денис Черников. А специалисты из компании Sony Ericsson вообще стерли тонкую грань между двумя классами устройств. "Sony Ericsson уже достаточно давно не классифицирует телефоны на коммуникаторы и смартфоны, разделяя телефоны в зависимости от сферы применения», - рассказывает менеджер по маркетингу Sony Ericsson в России Марианна Бакиева. Того же мнения придерживается и Билл Гейтс, который во время визита в Москву осенью 2006 года говорил об интеграции всех классов устройств в одно универсальное (не разделяя на смартфоны и коммуникаторы), объединяющее в себе все необходимые функции.
Те, кто разницу между устройствами видит, не могут прийти к общему мнению относительно того, что же лучше. По мнению Дениса Черникова, смартфон вообще может уйти с рынка, когда цена на коммуникатор станет ниже. "Ценовая граница, после которой коммуникаторы завоюют рынок, - 10 тысяч рублей, и пройдена она будет уже через год, - говорит он. - Бизнес перейдет на коммуникаторы, потому что они удобнее и, по сути дела, выполняют функции ноутбука».
С этим не согласен менеджер отдела телекоммуникаций Samsung Игорь Дугинов. «Как показывает опыт развития, например, рынка телефонов, наоборот - появляется разнообразие форм-факторов и вариантов реализации (исходя из мелкой сегментации). Поэтому от сближения по цене слияния не произойдет, максимум - перераспределение порций», - считает он. В споре о том, что же все-таки лучше, многие высказываются в пользу смартфона: он обладает всеми функциями, необходимыми в дороге, а коммуникатор - своего рода недоноутбук. В том смысле, что если нужны функции ноутбука, используй ноутбук: экран больше, к тому же можно набирать текст на полноценной клавиатуре.
«Провести границу между смартфонами и коммуникаторами не так просто. Установка модулей сотовой связи в различные электронные устройства стала стандартом де-факто, - говорит директор департамента телекоммуникаций компании ISG Алексей Торицын. По его словам, операционная система, существующая у обоих классов устройств, дает возможность устанавливать дополнительные приложения. Они могут создаваться как фирмой, выпускающей смартфон или коммуникатор, так и сторонними разработчиками.
В начале был коммуникатор
Сколько бы ни спорили эксперты, портативное устройство, будь то смартфон или коммуникатор, должно объединить в себе телефон, компьютер, фотоаппарат, MP3-плеер и флеш-память. Первые образцы устройств, которые хотя бы частично интегрируют эти функции, появились в середине 1990-х годов. Понятие "коммуникатор" - а именно так классифицировались такие устройства - возникло раньше не только понятия "смартфон", но и понятия "карманный портативный компьютер". Наиболее заметной была Nokia 9000 - устройство, весившее чуть меньше полкило и совмещавшее возможности телефона и электронной записной книжки. Покупателями дорогой игрушки (цена составляла более $1 тысячи) были в основном состоятельные люди, желающие подчеркнуть высокий социальный статус.
Следующие 10 лет этот сегмент слабо развивался: не было ни технологических возможностей уместить компьютер в устройство весом 150-200 грамм, ни потребительского спроса. Да и цена оставалась непомерно высокой.
В настоящее время ситуация кардинально меняется: смартфон уже сейчас можно купить за $200, а коммуникатор - за $400. Технологии вышли на высокий уровень, обеспечив возможность высокоскоростного обмена данными, которых сегодня хоть отбавляй.
Операционная система
Появление умных телефонов поставило вопрос о необходимости создания программного обеспечения. Продвинутые устройства требовали разделения труда. Разработкой ПО должны были заняться сторонние компании, тогда как производителям трубок следовало сосредоточиться на совершенствовании технических параметров.
В результате таких раздумий в 1998 году появилась компания Symbian, созданная Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola и Psion. По замыслу авторов проекта, Symbian должна была стать независимым разработчиком ПО для смартфонов и установить единый стандарт в отрасли. В начале 2000-х годов в сладкую жизнь Symbian ложку дегтя решила добавить компания Microsoft. Альтернативой этой операционной системе (ОС) стала платформа Stinger. Symbian под нажимом Microsoft стала разваливаться. В 2003 году из консорциума вышла Motorola, а в 2004-м - Psion. Единственным крупным владельцем, таким образом, стала Nokia, которая и занялась дальнейшей разработкой Symbian и сейчас производит около 80% устройств на ее базе.
«Среди смартфонов наибольшее распространение получила ОС Symbian. Для этой системы производители подготовили несколько отличающихся интерфейсов. Наиболее популярный - Nokia Series 60 (есть еще «серии» 80 и 90), причем используется этот интерфейс не только в моделях Nokia, но и в устройствах других производителей. Интерфейс для ОС Symbian, используемый в смартфонах Sony Ericsson, называется UIQ», - рассказывает Алексей Торицын. Менее распространена, по его мнению, операционная система Windows Mobile for Smartphones. Первой моделью на основе Windows Mobile (на российском рынке) была Motorola MPx200. Коммерческий успех к ней так и не пришел по причине откровенной недоработанности аппарата. Смартфоны под Windows выпускаются под марками HTC, Qtek, i-Mate, Orange и другими.
Есть и гораздо менее распространенные операционные системы для смартфонов. «Это доставшаяся в наследство от КПК Palm OS (коммуникаторы palmOne), BREW (аппараты Casio), Ultron (редкая модель Kyocera ZTE V91), Psion, Linux PDA (смартфон Sharp Zaurus или коммуникатор ROAD S101)», - говорит Алексей Торицын.
Как и в споре о том, кто победит - смартфон или коммуникатор, нет ясности и в вопросе, что лучше - Symbian или Windows Mobile.
«Однозначно Windows эффективнее, чем Symbian. Windows - это открытая операционная система, для нее больше программ, которые обновляются гораздо чаще, чем программы для закрытой системы Sуmbian», - считает Денис Черников. «Для нас оптимальным решением является именно Symbian. Эта операционная система делает возможной разработку наиболее продвинутых сервисов, что особенно важно для отрасли беспроводной связи», - замечает Марианна Бакиева. В споре пока участвуют только производители устройств, у пользователей в основном нет возможности сказать свое веское слово. Среди смартфонов побеждает Symbian, так как она устанавливается по умолчанию на большинстве смартфонов, коммуникаторы же чаще имеют платформу Windows.
Меры предосторожности
Приобретение смартфона или коммуникатора таит опасность. Более сложные системы становятся такими же уязвимыми со стороны вредоносных программ, как и компьютеры. С той лишь разницей, что их владельцы пока этого не осознают. Основные направления, по которым сейчас развивается мобильная "вирусология", сформировались осенью 2004 года. Одно из них - создание троянских программ, призванных наносить финансовый ущерб зараженному пользователю. Например, троянец Mosquit.a. рассылает множество SMS по адресной книге. «Появившийся в ноябре троянец Skuller.a стал первой ласточкой в самом многочисленном семействе мобильных троянцев. Он заменял иконками с изображением черепа иконки приложений, попутно удаляя их файлы. В результате этого после перезагрузки телефон переставал работать», - рассказали корреспонденту «Газеты» в «Лаборатории Касперского». Это лишь пара примеров вредоносных программ для мобильных устройств. Другие могут удалять программы, включать устройство в зомби-сеть для рассылки спама, красть информацию и отслеживать все действия, которые производит владелец устройства. Словом, делать все то, что представляет угрозу для компьютера. Ведущие антивирусные разработчики сейчас создают защитные программы для смартфонов и коммуникаторов, однако этот рынок только начинает развиваться.
